As an MBA instructor of a Cross-Cultural Risk Analysis course, I want to tell you that Cultural Detective is the most comprehensive cultural tool that I have ever seen!
Janet Graham, university professor
You guys ROCK! Thank you!!!
Michael Vande Berg, Ph.D., Chief Academic Officer, Council on International Educational Exchange
By far the most popular element of our intercultural programs! Our company has been delivering intercultural and cross-cultural programs for a number of years globally. I continue to hear from employees that the Cultural Detective has made it easier for them to understand the actions and behaviors of their colleagues in other countries.
Bonnie D. Roelofs, Senior Diversity Consultant, Royal Dutch Shell
I like the quick, culturally-grounded, business-applicable scenarios in the Cultural Detective. The model is masterful in its truthfulness and practicality. It's a compassionate, nonjudgmental, enlightened approach to problem solving the cultural misunderstandings that often lead to unfortunate breakdowns in working and personal relationships.
Andrés Tapia, Global Diversity & Inclusion Director, Hewitt Associates
VERY IMPRESSIVE! WHAT A TREMENDOUS RESOURCE. Your contribution to the field is enormous!!!! Cultural Detective will certainly be one of the BENCHMARKS of the intercultural field.
Dr. L. Robert Kohls, Pioneer of Intercultural Communication
The program I run which incorporates the Cultural Detective Method has been so successful that the client is clamoring for expansion!
Dr. Olga Taylor, Intercultural Business Consultant
Cultural Detective provides a framework in which to understand and interpret behaviours and attitudes from other cultures acknowledging positive intent, and building bridges to prevent breakdown in relationships. This is such positive and practical training. It is also clear on individual difference—works against stereotyping. I like the emphasis on understanding ourselves as amalgams of diverse personal and cultural influences. This approach can be useful in one-on-one coaching situations, and tremendously powerful in organisations.

I recently integrated Cultural Detective into a week-long a course at a French university. The materials were easy to use and stimulated incredibly rich conversations among the students. The most brilliant aspect of the program, from my perspective, is the deceptively simple Cultural Detective Worksheet. After seeing the rich solutions generated by the students when they analyzed the CD Critical Incidents, I suggested that they use the same worksheet for the intercultural analyses required in their final group projects. They did and the results were excellent—clear, simple, and sophisticated, with solid recommendations for building cultural bridges. I look forward to integrating the Cultural Detective into many of my courses and training programs in the future.

Culture is a useful lens to discuss a variety of issues. The overall framework and premises of Cultural Detective are excellent! It helps open people up to other perspectives because they have no reason to feel threatened.

Cultural Detective helps us learn that conclusions are to be realized and understood; that cultures are multidynamic, as are the individuals in them; and that bridges are paths that need to go both ways. Cultural Detective enables me to better support understanding of the dynamic blending of patterns and habits.
I love how Cultural Detective dovetails so beautifully with and applies learnings from other intercultural tools—the DMIS (developmental model of intercultural sensitivity), the dimensions of culture...

Cultural Detective has changed my programs from a "deliverer or information" focus to that of discovery, with less pressure to myself and participants. Building bridges is the "golden nugget" of the Method, going beyond master intercultural programs which address only awareness. The Method brings out the pluses and minuses of values, and prevents any culture being perceived as all good.
Cultural Detective has shown me my personal prejudices need help! My consulting business has greatly benefited as I am now a more effective change agent.

Cultural Detective has made my Advanced ESL classes more effective and helped me create new training opportunities.

The Cultural Detective series is fabulous—in form, content and examples. I particularly like the images and the best practices.
Carolyn Feuille, Principal, Esprit Global Learning
I find your Cultural Detective (Germany and U.S.) Values Lens very descriptive. One can always argue about what is individual and what is general, but so far not one person has challenged the values in the Lens. I think your Cultural Detective is a fabulous piece of work.
Johanna Marius, md-interculture
Cultural Detective is insightful, useful and sincere. Please keep up the good work.
Nancy Caldwell, intercultural trainer
Very cool. Impressive list of authors. Well researched and validated. Beautiful, impressive graphic design. This is a valuable, highly effective training tool—well worth the money.
Sherry Gupta, intercultural trainer
My feedback regarding Cultural Detective is very positive. The Values Lenses are a truly practical tool to awaken people to possible misperceptions. Another point I like is the variety of situations that are used to highlight cultural values and the method that is used during debrief.

I purchased this resource immediately prior to hosting a high-level Thai delegation here at the University of Auckland. There were collaboration and business opportunities to explore with this group. I had not had direct experience with the Thai culture before and I wanted to do my best to ensure the visit was meaningful for the group, and that we could come together as strangers but be able to discuss needs and opportunities together. I found Cultural Detective very useful and made changes to the plans for the day on the basis of what I learned.
Jenny Alford, University of Auckland
Cultural Detective is FABULOUS. Good work!!! This speaks to me much more than dimensions! Redundancia remains one of the most simple, elegant and intelligent simulations I know.
