Mária Tajtáková, Ph.D.

Mária Tajtáková is a Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Economics in Bratislava in Slovakia. Her main fields of interest are marketing, applied in the arts, and culture and intercultural communication. She is multilingual and in addition to other topics she lectures on Intercultural Communication in Business in Slovak, English, French and Spanish.
She completed her Ph.D. in Arts Marketing, in the framework of which she also dealt with intercultural differences in perceptions of artistic products among different culturally conditioned audiences. Her current research focuses on consumer behaviour in the arts and culture, international cultural tourism, and intercultural advertising. She is a member of several international research teams, and regularly participates in international scientific conferences.
She is also guest professor at the University of Granada (Spain) and the University of Hamburg (Germany), where she gives courses on Intercultural Communication in Business. Prior to her current position she worked as marketing manager of the Slovak National Theatre, and as a consultant of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic.
