Cross-Cultural Trainer

Kathi Lyn Tarantal, B.A., B.S., M.Soc.Sci

Kathi Tarantal is an international cross-cultural trainer, an experienced international speaker, training course developer, team leader and founder of an international organization in Hungary. She holds a bachelor of arts in education and a bachelor of science in biology from the University of Nebraska, U.S.A. She recently finished her master's degree in cultural anthropology from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. For her research she "interviewed", via email, 150 people living in a country from where they grew up. The interviewees had 30 countries of origin and 60 countries of destination, thus giving her a wide knowledge and understanding of issues faced by expatriates.

Kathi has successfully adapted cross-culturally and gained significant training experience. She is an American citizen with permanent residential status in South Africa. She is married to a South African and has two children. She speaks four languages and has traveled or worked in more than 45 different countries.

Kathi's professional experience includes director of leadership development for an international organization where she created a program of teaching and training senior leaders; research consultant for an international company where she helped develop strategies for training leaders working across cultures, and lecturer and trainer for group and interpersonal relationships in the complex racial and cultural theatre of South Africa.

Kathi has been immersed in two significant transition points in recent world history. She lived in Eastern Europe for three years during the transition from communism and in South Africa during the change from apartheid to democracy.
