Cultural Detective® Facilitated Online Learning Events

How can you quickly develop the skills necessary to lead your global team, manage your global project or prepare for expansion to the emerging markets, without leaving your desk?

The Cultural Detective team presents a two-part series of Facilitated Online Learning Sessions that will provide you with the keys to a proven, industry-changing and industry-leading toolset for developing your individual and organizational global competence and to ultimately succeed where “culture conflicts” caused failed ventures.

FOLE 1: Cultural Detective Method
FOLE 2: Cultural Detective Lenses
February 15 & 22, 2012
15h-17h GMT/UTC
16:00-18:00 Paris
10:00-12:00 New York
20:30-22:30 Bangalore

Online with headset, 2 hours each FOLE

The first session gives participants an introduction to the Cultural Detective method and Worksheet. Participants will debrief a critical incident and learn to use and teach others to use the CD Worksheet. The Worksheet enables ongoing structured learning, conflict resolution, and planning.

The second session provides participants familiarity with Values Lenses, including how to use Values Lenses to supplement critical incident debriefing, how to create and help others to create a Personal Values Lens, and how to use Lenses for team and intercultural effectiveness.

These highly interactive and engaging facilitated online learning sessions can be tailored to your organization's needs. They are a terrific way to enable more of your organization's staff members to get maximum effectiveness from the CD method and materials. Contact us to schedule a session for your group or organization. Click here for more information on FOLEs 1 and 2. You can view, download or print this description.

Developmental Intercultural Competence: Cultural Detective, Personal Leadership, and the DMIS
A transformative professional development course

The ability to collaborate productively and enjoyably across cultures is more important than ever, whether we focus on communicating with elderly parents or teenaged children, or on building trust and producing results with colleagues at the next desk and across the planet. But what do theory and practice tell us about how to gain maximum effectiveness?

One exceptionally rapid and proven way to successfully improve cross-cultural competence is to use the MashUp: a natural and powerful combination of two leading intercultural competence development processes: Cultural Detective (CD) and Personal Leadership (PL).

This four-month course will transform your personal and professional practice. It will enable you to use the MashUp in a developmentally appropriate manner to support and stretch learners at all stages of intercultural development. Coursework will be conducted virtually, allowing you to complete the assignments from your office, home, or during travels. It will be facilitated by Dianne Hofner Saphiere, Heather Robinson, and Barbara F. Schaetti. Milton Bennett, creator of the DMIS (Developmental Model of Intercultural Sensitivity), normally joins us for part of the course.

Click here for course design and details.

Read a brief article about the combination of these three methods.

Participation is limited to 20, so please sign up early to secure your spot.
