Ruth Mastron, M.A.

Ruth Mastron is passionate about using her knowledge and skills to build bridges across cultures. She has lived, worked and studied in the US, the UK and France, and traveled extensively. She works with teams, families and individuals. Her clients come from high-tech and IT, as well as areas as diverse as hospitality, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, community service organizations, government and agribusiness. In addition, she has done projects for French and international schools, where she helps faculty, staff, students and parents to work together more effectively by improving communication across cultures about educational philosophies, methodologies, and expectations of one another.
She has been a speaker for organizations such as the Alliance Française (National Speakers Bureau), the French-American Chamber of Commerce and Meeting Professionals International. She provides training and coaching for overseas employees and their families moving to the US, and for US American employees and their families moving abroad. She also trains intercultural project teams and taught adult education through the Osher Institute at California State University, San Marcos.
She is co-author of Au Contraire! Figuring Out the French, Cultural Detective: France, and Cultural Detective: Jewish Culture. She is President of the House of Israel in Balboa Park in San Diego, and volunteers in Israel with Sar-el, where she works on army bases on tasks such as packing medical supplies, parts inventory and packaging, and maintenance.
Ruth holds a Master's Degree in Intercultural Relations with Antioch University McGregor, where her thesis topic was “The Feasible Dove: Cultural Reconciliation in the Aftermath of Genocide”. She has also earned over a dozen certificates at the Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication in Portland, Oregon, and the Summer Peacebuilding Institute at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Ruth lives in Oceanside, California, with a French husband and a bilingual cat.
