Felipe Bahamondez
Assistant Professor, Federico Santa Maria Technical University

Felipe is a civil industrial engineer specialized in human resources from the Federico Santa Maria Technical University (UTFSM) in Valparaiso, Chile. He is currently working at UTFSM as an assistant professor. His career is focused on qualitative models for cultural awareness and improving the skills of Chilean entrepreneurs to engage in better negotiation processes with foreign countries. Felipe is currently working with colleagues to develop an international negotiation handbook on this subject.
Felipe has had many intercultural experiences throughout his life. Since an early age he had to face constant flights from one country to another because of his father's work in a multinational company. Before he was twenty he had already lived in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Peru, which triggered his interest in the cultural and social differences between those nations and motivated him to work to close the gap between them as much as possible. After he finished his studies Felipe went to live in the United States, where he worked in the hospitality industry for a few years. In that position he learned a lot about dealing with people from various countries and cultures, including people from co-workers to costumers.
